Almost There

With a week left for the annually held Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon , people are certainly getting their gear ready for the big day.

Today on my way to town, I counted as many as 25-30 people from the Haaji Ali stretch right upto Marine Drive, which takes around 5-7 min. Most of these runners were 30+ , including an army unit huddled together and clipping along Pedar Road. Senior citizens kept their pace steady along Marine Drive while youngsters engaged in short periodical bursts whilst on the move. But the one thing recurring with most was a Walkman, CD player or iPod which does help to overcome the fatigue a little bit. I can vouch for that.

It's good to see Mumbaikars getting more and more health conscious with every year owing chiefly to the excellent promotions of the marathon. I'm feeling the chill down my spine, the excitement is setting in quick.

I'll be running the 7 km again this year. Hope to see you there.
