A Welcome Note

The best band in the world is back with another record.

Pearl Jam's new self titled disc has already been released on May 2nd 2006 and P2Ps' s are flooded with the first single " Worldwide Suicide". The video for the song is all over VH1 and has already been declared a "big hit".

"It's a classic Pearl Jam record -- it's got the excitement of Vs. to it," guitarist Mike McCready says of the new CD. The central theme of the album revolves around anti - war (anti - Bush goes unsaid) feelings, as suggested by tracks titled like -- "Army Reserve", "Marker In The Sand" and even some punk attributes coming in with "Comatose" . The trippy, Beatlesque "Parachutes" and ballads "Come Back" and "Inside Job" offer a softer, more soulful touch. The song that instantly hooked me on to the record is "Life Wasted", which is also rumoured to be the next single on the list.

This time around Pearl Jam are under a new label -- J Records under Adam Kasper (Soundgarden).

Enough. I'm off to listen to it a second time. And then another.
