3:10 To Yuma

Another bad thing that led to a good one...

Choosing a DVD to rent out sucks. It really does. Although if you think about it, it's very simple to pinpoint a movie that's --
  • Damn good
  • Not seen before
The tough part comes when you have to recall such names at the time of a phone call where the DVD guy is waiting patiently on the other end while you scratch your head off shooting names at him. Names that you aren't even sure of. Which is how I came down to "Hot Fuzz", a slapstick comedy about some top cop that.. well.. screw that flick. It sucked so bad that I went down in 25min and returned the DVD, saying I had mistaken it for something else. The guy bought my story.

Oh, There Will Be Blood & No Country For Old Men is out on DVD. I was surprised to see it on the racks myself. Multiple copies for that matter. Replicas galore. Tsk.

I saw a red and black banded DVD cover on which Russel Crowe and Christian Bale had their faces pasted across. Definitely worth it, I thought. I picked it up, and turned it over to read the plot summary. Sounded good. I had a look at the name again -- 3:10 To Yuma.

Came home and watched it. Frickin' good material. And master acting. Go see it NOW if you haven't already.
