Home Ground

Yesterday after a gap of 3 years I played cricket with building friends. Felt so nice. And to complement that, we also have a nice long strip here to keep as the pitch.

I have always preferred bowling over batting. I suck at handling the willow, I don't ever manage to produce a defensive shot - however hard I tell myself to. But with the ball, I can do a little bit. Yea .... I can bowl a relatively decent line and length once I settle in after the full toss deliveries at the start. [ Doesn't everyone always start off like that ? Haahaa ]

The deliveries I find that are strikingly more rewarding are those that cause nicks and ones that rattle the batsmans wicket. That's the mark of a perfect delivery, if one can stray within the magic corridor just to the left of the off-stump. Even when the batsman plays and misses the ball by a whisker ; that's a great feeling.

Beaten.
