AutoCAD is the most basic drafting software and the most popular. Pro-Engineer is more intensive and involves 3D modelling of various figures and shapes. Both are great tools for design engineers, although a combination of these two would cater more to Mechanical Engineers in the industry.
Since I've taken up this course, my interaction with mechanical drawings has been rekindled - much to my delight. It also did spring upon my face a grin.... picturing those days in KJSCE with a few heads hovering above a single sheet, hellbent on devising a logical explanation to the complex drawing under their noses.

hey amol, nice pic.. studying hard eh?
Sure reminds me of those 3rd Sem dayz. Some million sheets...And 8th sem, remember how we took like 8 hrs to do that EOT ka full imperial...crazy shit...!
Glass Table + Lamp
= Full Imperial Sheet
damn
i have to draw an eot and a pump and god knows what else
got tips?
Tanay my friend, I repeat...
Glass Table + Lamp
= Full Imperial Sheet
Just keep that in mind and give a big Heave-Ho...!!!
Otherwise be ready for an 8 hour marathon session if you choose to use your own dimensions.
Glass Table + Lamp + One hot room
= Full Imperial Sheet
P.S: Dont even think of going with your own dimensions.... Remember we are not here to prove anything to anyone....Just get those sheets done quickly and loathe in utter gluttony as others who take their own dimensions struggle !! :D
Damned engineers.
