It would be safe to say that France woke up from their nightmare last evening. Now that they're on the fast track ( Ribery's multiple runs during the first half certainly displayed that ) things are looking happy in the French camp, with the 3 - 1 scoreline against Spain.
The shining element of France's victory ; Zidane or Zizou .... as people like(love!) to call him has earned a lot of respect with the referees , cementing his place in the football world as one the most illustrious players. When it matters, he's delivered for France -- the Euro 2004 faceoff against England and even last night, with a great free kick and a stupendously crafted goal in the last few minutes.
I'll be watching the next clash -- Brazil Vs. France and hoping for Zizou to deliver yet another beauty.

Absolutely disagree with Amol about Henry. I think he quoted him out of context. Case of misintepretation of words. Typical DNAgiri...:-)

and yea, brazil v/s france is goin to b a gr8 match.....
and since it is zidane's last world cup.....lets c how far he stretches....
I'm glad you're showing appreciation for Les Bleus. Zizou is definitely one of the greatest players of all time and you very well know my thoughts of Henry...:)
QUARTER finals.......
exit the sweet 16 round and enter the wholesome complete fully total entertainer round of QUARTERS....
so .....
1. GREMANY and ARGENTINA (the best match in the round.......the home team vs the team which is playing as a team and incidently has some great player also)
2. ENGLAND and PORTUGAL (the team which is lost in world of its own and teh team whose some important items of armoury was lost in last match)
3. ITALY and UKRAINE (the team totally nowhere near form and a team whose lack of experience can be nullified for the presence of shevchenko "for me atleast" )
4. BRAZIL and FRANCE (the team whose all players are gunnning for individual glory , but dont forget the ze robertos goal in last match, where they worked as a deadly team vs the awakening gaints, last time when they won world cup, they defeated Brazil in QUARTERS.....)
so QUARTER finals it is..........
I really wanted Spain to win the Cup. They were (are) are brilliant team. I hate that they lost to France, who I don't believe deserve their place in the Quarters.
But again, if anyone had to put in the final dagger, I'm glad it was Zizou. If for nothing else, to see the great man with a smile on a face and a goal against his name.
Now my hopes turn to Portugal.
