Homecoming

Two months have passed since my arrival at Delhi.

Every new experience is accompanied by a new feeling or emotion. I have stayed away from home before but it was more like this - a regional disposition within city limits. And now, it's more than that. Back then, I knew I could rush home anytime I wanted to.

I booked my tickets late last week, after a lot of flip-flop between rail and air travel. Ever since the final click on MakeMyTrip, I haven't stopped thinking about the trip back home. Plenty of excitement and restlessness. Since this week, the countdown has been in converted from days to hours. My colleagues at work might've found it amusing. After all, they're more experienced in this department. A couple expressed dissent over my mode of travel. Air is way too expensive. Nope I said. Firstly, I'm going home because I want to so it's always worth it if you want something bad. Secondly, unlike popular opinion, this is not an expense - more like an investment to gain quality time at home.

Waiting to hit home tarmac.
