Quality By Process

Saturday 10th February saw the inauguration of our Alumni Committee's "Alumniscence" event.

The purpose of this event is to bring to the students and the alumni, a common ground for sharing doubts and insights of the industry. Workshops, debates, case study sessions, briefings and similar activities will be the medium(s) for this Interaction Zone.

The first one was held yesterday. Mr. Jasmeet Singh Arora from HLL came to college to tell us about the importance of marketing. How to think big, think different with some excellent examples like Adidas, Virgin, Red Bull and even The Body Shop.

We got lotsa help from Venu ( a PG student ) to design our poster. Thanks buddy!

A chronological sequence of designs is given below --

( click on each one to see a better & enlarged view )

Draft I
  • The trial run looked great. ( till we looked at it a lot closer ! )

Draft II
  • SIMSR logo was changed. The trial poster didn't have the word under the logo!
  • The red outline on the main title did look slightly odd, a mismatch of sorts on the overall look. And so it was changed.
  • Event Details weren't visible. The font and its size was adjusted.

Draft III

  • OK, so now the heads for event details weren't clear enough. Changed that too

FINAL VERSION !

Lotsa minor changes here and there. The final cut was ready.

  • A new Alumniscence look. Super uplift !
  • Alumni Committee logo corrected. ( underline erased )
  • Topic font changed
  • Larger font size overall
  • Completed the 'incomplete star' next to Alumniscence

Now thats what I call quality building in steps !

At the end of the day, a few of us with Mr. Jasmeet Singh Arora himself ( 3rd from left )

I am liking the evolution of the poster concept here - especially since I had a miniscule role to play in the entire thing! Ha ha! Btw, why the change in blog background greenloco?

Hey Avi!

Wanted a crisp new feel to the whole blog.

I did do some modifications in the default template to tweak a few things here and there.
